| Marketing Representative / Employment Specialist YAI/NIPD - New York City, NY Marketing Representative / Employment Specialist YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities is an award-winning, nationally acclaimed network of not-for-profit health and human services agencies dedicated to building brighter futures for people with developmental disabilities of all ages and their families. We serve individuals, families, and communities in the NYC metropolitan area, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Sullivan Counties within New York State. The most recent additions to our network include services to New Jersey and Puerto Rico. Our full range of services include early intervention, pre-school, family supports, day treatment and day habilitation programs, employment training and placement, clinical and residential services, as well as recreation and camping services.Develop employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities As a vital part of our marketing team, the Marketing Representative serves as a placement resource for our employment training programs by providing job development support. Duties include, but are not limited to: Working with Business Community: * Making cold calls and sales presentations to employers (on phone and in person) to sell YAI/NIPD's employment programs and participants.* Work to gain commitments from employers to interview and potentially hire individual with disabilities who have completed YAI/NIPD's employment training program.* Prospecting for potential new business and working to develop relationships with employers through active stewardship.* Serving as liaison between employers and YAI/NIPD program staff.Working with YAI/NIPD Employment Training Programs and Participants:* Conducting mock interviews with program trainees to assist with interview skill building as well and to assess job readiness, strengths, and interests.* Working with program staff during candidate selection process to ensure appropriate job matches are made.* Accompanying participants on job interviews as needed. Project Management and Administrative Support:* Keeping updated records and reports of job placements and maintaining/updating employer mailing list. * Working with Manager of Corporate Relations to implement marketing strategies and special projects.Job RequirementsThe ideal candidate will:* Be organized, self-starting, assertive, resourceful and goal-oriented* Possess excellent written and oral communication skills* Have computer experience, preferably MS Word, Excel & Access * Appreciate the value of working as part of a team* Have solid networking, follow-up and development skills* Be willing to travel to Brooklyn at least 2 days a week and Manhattan 2-3 days a week* Be willing to travel throughout Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester & Long Island* Have a Bachelor's degree, some sales/development experience and experience working with individuals with disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experienceEOEKeyword Search: Job Developer, Case Manager, Marketing Representative, Employment Developer, Job Coach www.getinsurancesalesjobs.com - October 4 | |
