Community relations/ institutional outreach, Public relations/ marketing (campus) Employment Status: Full-time Salary: Competitive Daemen College seeks an experienced, dynamic, and self-motivated communications professional to lead the effort to promote the College, its programs, and its faculty and staff to a multiplicity of audiences, both internal and external. The Director of Institutional Communication is responsible for managing the Colleges strategic communication and public relations efforts using all available media and platforms. The Director reports directly to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and often works closely with the president and his/her cabinet. The College has recently launched an effort to publicize its role as a college of national distinction, and the Director will play a key role in this initiative, and thus will be expected to produce a high volume of work with minimal supervision. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (minimum) in journalism, communication, public relations, English or related field; Minimum of five (5) years experience in journalism, communication, public relations, or related field; Superior writing, proofreading, and verbal communications skills; Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously; Demonstrated experience in writing in a wide variety of formats for a variety of audiences; Proven success in placing stories in the media (national media is a plus) Familiarity with new media formats To view complete job description and submit application visit Application must include resume, cover letter and writing sample(s) in a single attachment.
