Safety and Assessment Representative JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW The Safety and Assessment Representative is responsible for completing workers compensation pre-contract surveys on perspective SOI clients and provides loss control services to SOI clients in an effort to reduce the occurrence of workplace accidents.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES - Perform loss control inspections on current clients and recommend improvements to their safety programs both verbally and via recommendation letters. - Perform pre-contract loss control surveys on perspective clients and write detailed loss control reports addressing hazards, controls and loss history. - Provide safety training to clients to help reduce injuries, accidents, and absenteeism. - Respond to emergency workers compensation injuries. - Prioritize clients, schedule visits and track recommendations. - Log all activities and maintain calendar in company CRM. - Stay up to date on loss control related training and topics. - Communicate with territory sales office(s) regarding client and prospect visits. - Comply with all SOI policies. - Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion.JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or a minimum of one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents - Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. - Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format - Excellent interpersonal skills - Excellent presentation and facilitation skills - Ability to communicate with and effectively present information to employees at all levels of the organization - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions - Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables - Ability to develop project plans, coordinate projects, communicate changes and progress, complete projects on time and budget, and manage project team activities. - A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace - Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities - Basic to Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite - Intermediate skills in company CRM software - Thorough working knowledge of OSHA requirements including PPE, emergency action plans, hazard communication, injury/illness reporting, lock-out/tag-out procedures, noise protection requirements, etc.WORK ENVIRONMENT/OTHER INFORMATION (Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.) - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, move, bend at neck and reach below shoulder level. Employee is constantly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to operate telephone, computer and mouse. The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder level. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. - Employee will occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and loud/noisy conditions. - Employee will be frequently required to drive 0-100 miles, and may occasional drive over 100 miles, fly, and/or travel out of town and overnight.See Job Description
