Job ID: 8878 Regular/Temporary: Regular FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Department of Political Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York invites applications for a tenure-track position in Comparative Politics beginning in the fall of 2014. The hiring rank is Assistant Professor. The search is open with respect to geographic region. Applicants must demonstrate that they are qualified to teach our introductory courses in Comparative Politics and Comparative Criminal Justice Systems, as well as our Senior Seminar in International Relations and Comparative Politics. In addition, the ability to teach our junior level course in the Politics of Transnational Crime is preferred. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop and teach courses in her/his area of expertise and participate in the undergraduate program in International Criminal Justice and the graduate program in International Crime and Justice. John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), is an internationally recognized leader in educating for justice, committed to the advancement of justice and just societies. It is a public liberal arts college that enriches the entire learning experience by highlighting themes of justice across the arts, sciences, humanities, and social sciences. Located steps from Lincoln Center at the cultural heart of New York City, the College offers bachelors and masters degrees and participates in the doctoral programs of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. in political science is required, although outstanding ABDs near completion will be considered. In addition to having an active research agenda, the successful candidate will bring enthusiasm and commitment to teaching.
