The Role
We are strengthening our presence at our clients in Switzerland and seek a DOCSIS Engineer to join our team.
In your professional history you have proven to be able to quickly pick up on difficult technical circumstances and understand the contexts. You have an initiative personality and you are a team player, who executes it’s tasks through goal-oriented and inde-pendent work accurately and reliably. Additionally, you have very good communication skills, which allow you to transport technical facts appropriately to target groups and management level.
Your tasks:
- Determine the architecture and the equipment to be used throughout the entire DOCSIS platform
- Create manuals and initial templates for the operational staff
- Support of operational teams in troubleshooting the network (CMTS, Access, and IP backbone) in challenging situations
- Introduction of new standards and DOCSIS CMTS platforms
- Responsible for the DOCSIS hardware and software release
- Autonomous release testing of hardware and software
- Support of the introduction of new cable modems and set-top boxes, in coop-eration with all engineering departments |
Requirements
- University degree in telecommunications / computer science or CCNP / CCIE certification
- Several years of professional experience in the CMTS and DOCSIS area
- Experience in cable TV networks with interactive communication over IP net-works
- Strong knowledge of IP based technologies
- Good knowledge of RF / coaxial and fiber optic technologies
