Our TeamToyota Motor Europe is responsible for the planning, development,
production and sales of cars matching European market requirements.
Within the organisation, the Energy Research Group supports the R&D,
Sales and Corporate Planning Divisions with the mission to align Toyota
business to the Future Energy needs & Climate Change situation. In
order for Toyota to contribute to the Global Society, the Energy
Research Group predicts major movements in the field of Energy
(technical breakthroughs, policies, market needs,…), initiates and lead
new projects within the company. The Energy Research Group also advices
most appropriate energy for future mobility and suggests which
innovative technologies and mobility system to concentrate.
DescriptionIn view of energy security and availability, the mobility of people
is started to be reshaped. Beside the development of efficient ICE and
hybrid technologies, new powertrains using new energy carriers like
biofuels, electricity and hydrogen are introduced. These new
technologies bring with them innovative ideas in fuel distribution,
usage of cars, cost of ownership. The car is also not seen standing
alone but interacting with its environment.
The Energy Research Group is looking for bright engineers prepared to
develop technology paradigms and capable to initiate successful
projects where technology potential, customer needs and financial return
will be taken into account.
Your challengeTherefore, the candidate will be responsible to:
- Predict major factors that will affect the energy usage in the transport sector;
- Develop and propagate internally knowledge on advanced car technologies, intelligent transport systems and energy usage;
- Elaborate and get agreements on advanced projects where new technologies and market introduction will be considered.
The IndividualCandidate needs to:
- Have strong car engineering knowledge;
- Have technical skill in modeling of car energy efficiency;
- Be familiar with the energy markets (oil, electricity, alternative fuels);
- Have reference in advanced research;
- Be able to develop autonomous vision and translate them in organised actions;
- Have knowledge in economics and in EU regulations;
- Have good negiation skills and network in EU;
- Be fluent in English, any other European language (German, French, …) is an asset.
