The Role

We are on assignment, with one of the world’s premier construction consultancies, who due to expansion are seeking an Executive Quantity Surveyor for their operations in Cairo, Egypt.

The client has over 100 years of trading, firmly establishing themselves as an industry leader in project and commercial management. 2013 has been a great year for them; they have opened of new offices and won major assignments around the globe...2014 is expected to be another fantastic year.

Reporting to the Associate Director the key tasks include:-
•Provide leadership and direction to the team of quantity surveyors on projects of significant scale and complexity including planning and implementation of the cost management functions.
•Role may be site based or office based. Essential client facing skills are needed for day-to-day client interface for all commercial and cost management issue
•Contribute to training and coaching of junior members of staff.

Requirements Candidate requirements: •A relevant construction related degree, ideally BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying is a must have requirement. •Membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is essential •Minimum of 15 years of quantity surveying and cost management within retail, residential and infrastructure projects. •Previous working experience in Egypt or Middle East would be a significant advantage. •Good leadership and management skills, team player and have a track record of problem solving and risk assessment. •Experienced in pre-contract cost planning, benchmarking and tendering, as well as post contract experience using FIDIC forms of contract. •Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of management. •Good organisation skills, ability to multi-task, and team player.
