and Experience Required:
Competencies and Critical Success Factors
? Professionalism: Good research skills, including ability to identify
and propose solutions to issues/crises; ability to apply good judgment
in the context of assignments given.
? Planning and Organizing: Ability to work and manage conflicting
priorities;
? Communication: Excellent drafting ability and communication skills,
both written and oral;
? Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and
maintain effective partnerships and working relationships;
? Respect for Diversity: Works effectively with people in a
multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect
for diversity.
Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
• A Master degree in development, conflict management, social studies or
a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience:
• At least 2 years experience in conflict management and/or
develop+pment management in an international development setting,
preferably with a particular focus on local conflict management;
• Significant and progressive management experience, in particular with
management of large grants;
• Skills in facilitating consultations, workshops, and grass-roots
engagements;
• Knowledge of and/or experience of the nature of local conflicts in
Sudan and in particular the Three Areas;
• Demonstrated capacity to work closely and effectively with government
ministries and officials and demonstrated sensitivity to political
components of peace building.
Language Requirements:
? Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic communication skills.
