Tata Steel Projects OverviewTata Steel Projects are a multi-disciplinary design and engineering business comprising professional engineers, architects, surveyors and project delivery specialists across a number of market sectors including rail, industrial, energy and off-site solutions. Purpose/Responsibilities
- Act as designer on a variety of rail and infrastructure design projects;
- Outline and detailed design of large multi-disciplinary projects;
- Checking of detailed designs and drawings;
- Undertake the duties of designer as highlighted in CDM legislation;
- Act as lead engineer on projects as directed;
- Apply procedures and systems to ensure the safety of staff, and others, affected by the operations of Tata Steel Projects;
- Responsibilities for delivery of project(s) to the required quality, to programme and within agreed fees.
Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications/Experience/Personal Qualities/Skills
- Good knowledge and experience of civil engineering design and detailing;
- Ideally a Good civil engineering degree 2:2 or above (or equivalent);
- Detailed knowledge of civil design principles and standards;
- Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards;
- Ideally working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer;
- Have good working knowledge of Network Rail procedures and standards;
- Good understanding of safety standards and CDM requirements;
- Awareness of contract conditions and the importance of contracts in project delivery;
- Good commercial awareness including programming and delivery to budgets/timescales.
